There’s something magical about being by the bay. The salty breeze. The slower pace. The sound of waves rolling in. It's a feeling that brings people together, effortlessly. At our Fairhope shop, we get to experience that magic every day, welcoming locals and visitors alike, each with their own stories, traditions and love for coastal living.

Jimmy and Sook was born out of that same love. The name itself is a playful nod to Chesapeake Bay slang a “jimmy” is a male crab, and a “sook” is a female. It’s a reminder that life by the water is full of charm, personality, and tradition… just like the clothing we create.

Since our grand opening on July 4, 2008, we’ve made it our mission to offer more than just clothes. We’re about coastal comfort, authentic quality, and a little crabby character woven into everything we do. Our original three-color embroidered crab, now our trademark icon of the Chesapeake, has been stitched onto thousands of cotton pique shirts, polos, hats, belts and more. From ladies’ apparel to infant onesies, our collection is designed to outfit the whole family in style that feels like home by the water.

You’ll find wooden docks stacked with crab pots, ever-changing merchandise displays, and friendly faces that make each visit feel like a front-porch conversation. Whether you’re shopping for your next boat day tee or grabbing a gift for someone special, our shop is stocked with new arrivals and seasonal staples you’ll want to keep coming back for.

Meet Andy

Founder of Jimmy and Sook

Andy Smith launched Jimmy and Sook with a simple goal: to create clothing that captured the spirit of the bay and the people who love it. Originally from the shores of the Chesapeake Bay in Irvington, Virginia, Andy grew up surrounded by crab boats, coastal charm, and a deep appreciation for small-town life.

Today, he calls Fairhope, Alabama home, where he lives with his family and runs the Jimmy and Sook storefront in the heart of downtown. With deep roots in coastal traditions and a genuine love for community, Andy built a brand that feels like home - laid back, full of heart, and never far from the water.
